【Summary】
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Japan, released an outline of the government's 100,000 yen cash handout program, Special Cash Payments, devised to support the economic impacts of the Novel Coronavirus pandemic.
All people registered with the Basic Resident Registration Systems as of April 27, including foreign residences, are eligible.
To prevent infection with the Coronavirus, please do not go to your city government office.
You can apply by mail. When you receive the application forms in your mailbox, please follow the instructions.
You can also apply on the internet with the use of Individual Number Card, or My Number Card. You need the number printed on the back of this card to fill out the web application form.
Please be informed that the timing of the distribution of application forms and money varies by municipality.
The program will continue for about three months.
